Christine is a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, and an AKC Approved Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. Her training interests include behavior, obedience, herding and agility. Christine began her journey in dog training while she was in college in Texas, where she shared her home with Bailey, a sheltie, and Guinness, a border collie. Shortly after adopting Guinness in 1998, she took her first obedience class and became fascinated with clicker training and positive training methods.
Living with dogs with very different temperaments and some challenging behavioral issues, Christine was compelled to learn all she could about behavior modification and training. After successfully working through fear-related aggression issues in her own dogs, Christine was sold on the powers of positive and patient training techniques. She began training with Audrey Ferrel at Best Behavior Dog Training in 2001, and was soon assisting with classes, while continuing to take classes with her own dogs. She also became an important part of Everyday Dogs as an assistant and an instructor.
Today, she shares her home with Bailey, Guinness, Xena, mixed breed brothers Spenser and Fosters, and Border Collies Erin and Pepsi. All of her dogs are Canine Good Citizens. Bailey, Guinness, and Xena are also registered Therapy Dogs with Therapy Dogs International. She is currently competing in agility and herding, and has earned titles in multiple venues with five of her dogs, some in both herding and agility! Spenser is one leg away from his first agility title. Pepsi, the newest member of the family, is just starting her training with Christine!
When not playing with her dogs, Christine is a Sales Support Specialist with Battlefield Farms, a wholesale greenhouse. She completed her B.S. in biology from Geneva College and then went on to get another B.S. in Floriculture from Texas A&M University.
